The program, aimed at health and social care professionals, will run from October 5, 2026 to May 14, 2027. Registration will remain open until October 2, unless all available places are filled beforehand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:169;422-590\">The course aims to provide professionals with the resources and tools needed to address complicated grief at every stage, in adults as well as children and adolescents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:26;592-617\"><b>Why This Training Matters<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:574;619-1192\">The social taboo that still surrounds illness and death leaves many grieving people isolated, silenced, and unsupported \u2014 especially when the grieving process becomes complicated. Faced with this reality, more and more grieving individuals are turning to health and social care professionals for guidance, often in a state of vulnerability, disorientation, and pain, and sometimes presenting with blocked or masked grief. That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s essential for professionals to be able to recognize the symptoms of complicated grief and to have the right intervention tools at hand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:15;1194-1208\"><b>Course Content<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:189;1210-1398\">The program combines theoretical lectures, case studies, and required readings for group discussion, and is structured into five theoretical-practical modules covering, among other topics:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3 print:block print:space-y-1\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"15:1-18:33;1400-1582\">\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\" data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:61;1400-1460\">Defining grief, its treatment, and possible complications.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\" data-sourcepos=\"16:1-16:38;1461-1498\">Group and individual grief therapy.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\" data-sourcepos=\"17:1-17:51;1499-1549\">How grief manifests in children and adolescents.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\" data-sourcepos=\"18:1-18:33;1550-1582\">Approaches to traumatic grief.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"20:1-20:24;1584-1607\"><b>Methodology and Faculty<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"22:1-22:418;1609-2026\">Each module involves an average workload of 26 hours and must be completed within a maximum of 5 weeks, during which students analyze two case studies. At the end of each module, students take a written assessment, and participation in the Virtual Classroom&#8217;s discussion forums is also taken into account. The course content is developed and taught by the Foundation&#8217;s team of grief specialists, led by Sara Losantos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"24:1-24:27;2028-2054\"><b>Students and Accreditation<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\" data-sourcepos=\"26:1-26:512;2056-2567\">The course is aimed primarily at health and social care professionals with a university degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Psychology. Accreditation as Continuing Education for healthcare professions has been requested from the Health Department of the Regional Government of Madrid (13.5 credits in previous editions).
